Who we are

Digital Hammer (“us”, “we” or “our”) operates the https://www.digitalhammer.co.uk website (the “Service”). This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the Service or contact us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote. Our quote form asks for your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your telephone number, along with details of the video you need and how you heard about us.

When you contact us directly. If you email, phone or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you choose to send, such as your name, contact details and message.

When you visit the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies, does not identify you and does not follow you across other websites. Like any web server, our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies to track you or for advertising.

Our videos are played through Vimeo. The Vimeo player only loads when you press play, and it is set to “do not track”, so it does not set tracking cookies.

If we ever add cookies that need your consent, we will ask for it before setting them and update this policy.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and plan and deliver any work you ask us to do.

We use visit statistics, which do not identify you, to understand how the site is used and to improve it, and to keep the site secure.

We will not use your details for marketing without your permission, and we never sell your information.

Our lawful basis

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) we rely on:

Steps before a contract, when we reply to an enquiry or prepare a quote at your request, and contract when we carry out work for you.

Legitimate interests, for keeping business records, understanding how the site is used and keeping it secure.

Legal obligation, where we must keep records, for example for tax and accounting.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the site and handle messages. They only use your information to provide their service to us:

Cloudflare hosts the website, protects it from spam and abuse (including the check on our quote form) and provides our visit statistics.

Resend delivers the quote form to our inbox.

Google Workspace provides our email.

Vimeo plays our videos when you press play.

WhatsApp (part of Meta) carries any messages you send us on WhatsApp, under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose your information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or property of Digital Hammer, to prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, or to protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public.

International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom, for example in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is protected by the safeguards UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not go ahead for period to confirm, then delete them.

If you become a client, we keep project and billing records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting (currently six years), and then delete them.

Keeping it secure

The security of your data is important to us. The site is served over an encrypted connection and we limit who can see your information. No method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable steps to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to you or another organisation in a portable format.

Links to other sites

Our Service contains links to other sites that are not operated by us, such as our social media pages. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services, and we advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

Children’s privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date, and they take effect when they are posted.
